Joseph W. Choma
Joseph W. Choma, age 85, of Magnolia, died Sunday, February 12, 2006, in his daughter's home following a brief illness. He was born in Old Washington, OH, February 23, 1920, to the late John and Anna (Regrut) Choma. Joseph was a Magnolia resident since 1975 and retired from the Timken Company in 1974 after 33 years of service. He honorably served in the United States Army during WWII where he was awarded four bronze stars. Member of VFW Post #3124, Massillon, and the Golden Lodge. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by five brothers, Andy, John, Ellis, Michael and Steve Choma; two sisters, Ann Altvater and Josephine Farrar. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Choma, Deborah and Richard DeGasperis, Cathy and Mike DeGasperis all of Canton; four grandchildren, Brian, Steve, Michael and Amy DeGasperis; one brother and sister-in-law, Amil and Nancy Choma of Cambridge; one sister, Margaret Rohrabaugh of California. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at 1:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Rev. Herbert S. Garnes III officiating. Internment with Military Honors in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8pm and one hour before services on Wednesday (12-1:00pm) in the funeral home. The family would like to thank the Aultman Hospice staff for their support and a heartfelt thank you to Rev. Garnes, Fran, Judy, Dorothy and Cynthia.
