John R. Postel
Age 91, of Canton went home to be with his Heavenly Father following an extended illness. He was born November 19, 1923 in Cambridge, Ohio to the late Earl and Helen (Hammersley) Postel. John was a proud U.S. Marine and served in active duty during World War II. He was a loyal employee of the Timken Company retiring in 2014 with 68 years of service. He had attended the Canton Baptist Temple. Preceded in death by his wife, Kerma A. (Clark) Postel in 1993; one son, Hal Postel; a son-in-law, George Gordon. He is survived by four children, Jane Gordon, Debra (Jim) Girard, Craig (April) Postel and John R. Postel II; 10 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on south Cleveland Ave. with Rev. Delaney Young officiating. Interment in West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown, Ohio. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 10 – 11 am.
