John L. Porter
Age 71, of Canton, passed away in his home Thursday March 1, 2012. He was born September 22, 1940 in Apollo, PA to the late Edward E. and Marion (Baker) Porter. John was a Canton area resident for the past 40 years and was formerly employed by Beaver Excavating Company for 14 years. He was a member of Emmanuel Christian Church. John was a good and faithful Christian since 1967 and lived his life trying to praise and glorify God. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Porter in 1965; one brother, Murray Edward Porter. He is survived by his wife, Diane L. (Nelson) Porter to whom he was married 32 years; children and spouses, Terry and Myron Porter, Loretta and Bill Ramey, Johnny and Theresa Porter; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Doran Porter. Funeral services will be Saturday March 3, 2012 at 1:30pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Paul officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
