John Nizner
John Nizner, age 92 of Mesa, AZ. died December 28, 2007 following a brief illness. He passed away one day prior to his ninety-third birthday. He was born December 29, 1914 in Pittsburgh, PA. to the late John and Marie Nizner of Austria. John was married to the late Olga Potter of Canton, and remained in the area until 1978. He was and avid fisherman at Clendening Lake, where he built a cabin. He also enjoyed woodworking, horseshoes, classical music and smoking his pipe. He was a WWII Navy veteran, member of the Masonic Temple, Christ Presbyterian Church, both of Canton, and was retired from The Timken Company. He was also a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Master, Mesa, AZ. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by second wife, Ada Fry; brothers-in-law, Donald and Kalman Potter; sister-in-law, Dorothy Potter. He is survived by a step-son, Keith Fry of Appleton, WI; step-daughter, Joyce Weaver of Hot Spring Village, AR; sister-in-law, Gertrude Potter of Canton; many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Friday January 4, 2008 at 1:00pm in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Presbyterian Church of the Master at 6659 East University Dr., Mesa, AZ 85205. The Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
