John “Mike” Michael Geaghan Jr, age 78, of East Canton, Ohio passed away on April 6, 2025 peacefully at his home. He was born on October 11, 1946 in Bangor, ME to John and Arlene (Harvey) Geaghan as the oldest of eleven children.
Mike graduated from the Maine Maritime Academy with a bachelor’s degree of Science in electrical engineering. He went on to serve his country as a merchant marine in the Vietnam War. After the war, Mike worked for many years in the automotive industry, as a consultant and executive for various companies. He loved his work and traveled the world broadening his knowledge personally and professionally. Mike also bred and raised numerous race horses over the years. Of all the foals Mike raised, his dream of having a colt was finally realized two weeks ago.
Mike is survived by his wife Vivian Geaghan, and his children Chris Geaghan (wife, Kerry Vieira), Traci (Geaghan) Snider (husband, Charles Snider) and Timothy Geaghan and stepchildren Brian Burkhart and Trinette Zorger. His beloved grandchildren Kate Snider, Wybie Snider, Charlotte Geaghan, Nicholas Geaghan, and Nicole Zorger. He is also survived by his siblings, Larry and wife, Rhonda, Carolyn and husband, Michael, Peter and wife Cynthia, Chris and wife, Michelle, and his former wife Linda Geaghan.
Mike is predeceased by both his parents and his siblings Terry, David, Pat, Richard, Timothy and Kathleen.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9th from 10am-11am with a funeral service to follow at 11am at East Canton Church of God 201 E. Nassau St. East Canton, OH 44730. Pastor Greg Smith will officiate the service. Mike will be laid to rest at Mapleton Cemetery.
