John R. Medley

Age 78, of Canton died Saturday, February 27, 2021 in his home following an extended illness. Born February 15, 1943 in Canton, Ohio to the late Harry and Beulah (Boswell) Medley. He was a life resident of Canton and a U.S. Airforce Vietnam veteran. John retired from the Timken Company in 2000 with 35 years of service. He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church where he served as Head Trustee for many years, communion steward, usher and a member of the choir. John was an avid woodworker and golfer. He was a member of the Hall of Fame Woodcarvers and the Senior and Timken Golf Leagues. Preceded in death by a brother, Harry Medley Jr. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy A. (Stauffer) Medley; three children and spouses, Pam and Chuck Wood, David and Linda Medley, Michael and Dasha Medley; eight grandchildren, Trista (John) Runyon, Matthew, A.J., Nathan and Sammy Wood, Alisa, Zach and Noah Medley; three great grandchildren, Faith Wells, Grace and Ava Runyon; one sister, Doris Baldwin; his twin brother, Jim Medley; several nieces, nephews and adoptive grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Aultman Palliative and Hospice programs for their wonderful care given to John. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 11:00 am in Otterbein United Methodist Church, 6025 Shepler Church Rd, Navarre, OH 44662, with Rev Matt Garrabrant officiating. Interment in Union Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-7 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Masks and social distancing will be required for all services.
