John T. Long
John T. Long, age 53, of Canton, died Thursday, April 27, 2006 in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Canton, OH. on Nov. 24, 1952 to the late George and Jacqueline (Philips) Long. He was a life resident of Canton and a Vietnam Army Veteran. Retired from the Timken Co. in 2001 after 30 years of service. Member of Amvets Post #124. Preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and William Long; one granddaughter, Amber Lynn Smith. Survived by his wife of 28 years, Sandra L. (Newman); one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Jessica Smith of Canton; one daughter, Michelle Smith of Canton; five grandchildren, Brandon, Cassie, Zach, Shianne and Logan; step-father, James Richmond of Canton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Philip and Donna Long of North Carolina, Donnie and Gloria Long of Alliance; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Faye and Jack Krager of Atwater, Margaret and Jeff Spurrier of Canton; several nieces and nephews; canine companion, Jake. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Aultman MICU for their wonderful care and a special thanks to Anthony and Charla Mayle. Funeral services will be Monday, May 1, 2006 at 1:00 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave with Pastor Marvin Jack Mayle and Rev. Anthony Mayle officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Sunday from 7:00 - 9:00 pm.
