John Richard “Dick” Kahler
Age 92, of East Canton, passed away Thursday March 17, 2016 in his home. He was born October 30, 1923 in East Canton to the late Emery and Lettie (Keim) Kahler. Dick was a WWII Army veteran. He retired from Hercules Engines in 1976 after 33 years of service and was a member of Center Church of the Brethren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine M. Kahler in 2009; an infant daughter; son-in-law, Barry Henry; five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by four children, Dean R. Kahler, Beverly J. Henry, Evelyn M. Keane and Allen R. (Shannon) Kahler; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday March 21, 2016 at 11:00am in Center Church of the Brethren with Pastor David Hall officiating. Interment in Center Church Cemetery. Friends will be received Sunday 2-4pm in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton and one hour before services on Monday at the church (10-11am).
