John Forte
Age 89, of Canton, passed away Saturday July 14, 2018 in Meadow Wind Health Care Center. He was born March 26, 1929 in Canton to the late Marco and Antoinette (Urbano) Forte. John was a life resident of Canton and a Korean War Army veteran having served in the 987th Field Artillery. He was a member of the former Canton South Community Men’s Club, Korean War Veterans Ohio Chapter #81 and the VFW Post #3747. John retired from Canton Local Schools in 1985 after 35 years of service. He is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Karrie Johnson; two brothers, Patrick and Vince Forte; one sister, Mary Gernaldi. He is survived by his wife, Maxine D. (Coffey) to whom he was married 70 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Wayne Johnson; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Donna Forte; four grandchildren, Aaron (Ashley) Forte, Sarah Forte, Jason Johnson and Tyler Johnson; two great-granddaughters, Chloe Vugrinovich and Alivia Forte. Funeral services will be Tuesday July 17, 2018 at 2:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. Friends will be received two hours before services on Tuesday 12-2pm. Burial will be in Melscheimer Cemetery. The family would like to send a special thank you to Meadow Wind nursing staff and Crossroads Hospice.
