Joan McGee Wincek
Age 80, of North Canton, passed away Wednesday August 24, 2011 in Green Meadows Health and Wellness Center following a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's. She was born March 21, 1931 in Morgantown, WV and was a graduate of Morgantown High School. Joan was a Stark County resident since 1961, retired from H&H Auto Parts and was formerly employed by Clarkins. She was a member of Simpson United Methodist, the East Canton Civic Club and the Ford Continental Club. She is preceded in death by her mother, Eva (Blankenship); step-father, Alvin Long; first husband, Dale McGee in 1971; second husband, Walter Wincek in 2006; step-son, Kenny Wincek. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Alvin and Linda McGee of Bensalem, PA, Reggie and Kelly McGee of East Canton, Bob McGee of Plain Twp.; four step-children, Alan and Marge Wincek of Virginia, Phil and Sue Wincek of Plain Twp., Eric and Kim Wincek of Mansfield, Carrie and Ron Murphy of Kentucky; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday August 29, 2011 at 10:00am in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Rev. Cynthia E. Theobald officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Sunday 2-4pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Greater East Ohio at 408-9th St SW., Canton, OH 44707.
