Jerry Carpenter
Age 80, beloved husband, dad, and grandpa passed peacefully in the early morning hours of May 28, 2022. He left this world and entered into God’s eternal love and grace. The adopted son of Rev. Arthur E. “Bud” and Helen Carpenter, Jerry was born in Rochester, Indiana on October 28, 1941. He graduated from Perry High School in 1960. He proudly served in the U.S Army as a medic at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, and retired from The Timken Company in 1996, after 30 years of service. Jerry was a member of the North Industry Sportsman’s Club and enjoyed pursuing his many hobbies including woodworking, hunting and muzzle-loading. In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his daughter, Colleen Mathie, and his brother, Virgil Richter. He is survived by his cherished wife of 54 years, Linda Carpenter; his son, Scott (Cindy) Carpenter of Massillon; his four grandchildren, Calvin, Hannah, Zoe and Max, and his twin sister, Judy Timms of Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, love gifts in Jerry’s honor can be made to The Father’s House, 3951 Fulton Drive NW, Canton, OH 44718. A Celebration of Life service will be Friday, June 17 at Noon at The Father’s House with Rev. Webb Parsons officiating.
