Malavite, Jeannette I.
Age 79, of East Sparta died Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in Hennis Care Centre following a brief illness. Born July 2, 1929 in Canton, OH. to the late Sylvester and Hilda (Dean) West. She was a life resident of the Canton/East Sparta areas and a 1947 graduate of Canton South High School. She was the former owner/operator of Jeannette's Intimate Apparel. Jeannette was a member of North Industry Christian Church, Quota Club and a 54 year member of the Ohio Eastern Star Bolivar Chapter#368 where she was a past Worthy Matron, Grand Representative and served as the organist. Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Malavite Sr; one grandson, Noah Malavite. Survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Kitty Jean and Art Butterfield of Iowa, Cynthia and Harry Solenthaler of Louisville, Vickie and William Burgan of Stone Creek, Elaine and Darrell Fether of East Sparta; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Shirley Malavite, Keith "Timmy" and Erin Malavite all of East Sparta; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elva and Cel Aman of N. Canton, Joanne and Chuck Snider of California; one brother and sister-in-law, Victor and Patricia West of Virginia; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be Monday, June 15, 2009 at 6:00 pm in North Industry Christian Church, 425 45th St. S.W., Canton, OH. 44706 with Mike Malavite officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church from 5-6 pm with Eastern Star services at 4:45 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to North Industry Christian Church.
