Jeanette Kay (Zook) Muckley
Jeanette Kay (Zook) Muckley, age 50, of Canton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday April 4, 2008, in her home following a long 23 year battle with cancer. Jeanette was a life long resident of Canton. Jeanette trusted in Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior as a young child and is now seeing the rewards mentioned in II Timothy 4:7-8, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith; Finally, there is laid up for me the Crown of Righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His Appearing." Jeanette would like all who read this to clearly understand that she is in heaven today because of her faith and trust in the shed blood of Jesus Christ, her Lord, Saviour and Redeemer and in Him alone. The Holy Scriptures proclaim in Acts 4:12, "Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Jeanette was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Canton, where her parents had been charter members. She was active in church ministries where, from a very early age, she helped her mother with the nursery and Tiny Tots (which she eventually took on as her full-time ministry), and was deeply involved with the weekly AWANA youth program on Wednesday nights for over 20 years, youth and camp counselor and sponsor, and various other ministries. She was also very instrumental in establishing and maintaining the church library which fulfilled her dream of providing access to quality Christian literature, videos, and audios to everyone, especially children. She consistently prayed for her children that they would know and serve God. She also had a passionate desire for all her extended family, friends and acquaintances to have a personal relationship with God through a salvation only available through a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. She had previously worked at The Repository from 1975 through 1983. She changed careers to have and raise a family, a duty that she truly cherished. Jeanette was a loving, caring, devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt and was affectionately known by all the children she taught as "Aunt Jeanette." Her kind and warm spirit and the desire to love, pray for and encourage others, even during her own illness, will be greatly missed by her family and all those who have been blessed by her friendship and love. She is preceded in death by her mother, Gay Lee Zook; grandparents, Howard and Verna Hetherington of Canton, Lester and Sarah Zook of Marlboro. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Steven Muckley; their children, Kevin (24), Kyle (23) and Karen (18) all of Canton; father, Vern (Virginia) Zook of Albany, NY; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Terry Zook of Canton; sister and brother-in-law, Rochelle and Todd Scott of Massillon; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald Sr. and Edna Muckley of Green, OH; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald Jr. and Shirley Muckley of Canton, Edward and Billie Jo Muckley of Hartville; nieces, Alicia Scott, Hannah, Rachel and Gianna Muckley; nephews Chad (Rachel) Zook, Nathan (Erin) Zook, Seth and Austin Scott, Donald III (Angel), Samuel, Joseph, Daniel and Elijah Muckley; great nieces, Jessie and Erin Muckley. A celebration service will be Monday April 7, 2008 at 11AM in Grace Baptist Church with Pastor David Ryan officiating and Pastor Rob Thornsbury of Smithville, OH, assisting. Friends may call Sunday, 2-8pm in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton and one hour before services at the church (10-11am). Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Grace Baptist Church, Building Fund, at 5050 Middlebranch Ave. NE, Canton, OH 44705.
