Janis M. Slutz
Janis M. Slutz, age 73, of Strasburg, OH, passed away Monday September 10, 2007 in Altercare of Navarre. She was born August 17, 1934 in Versaille, KY, to the late George and D. McConnall (Reid) Dean. Janis was a Strasburg resident for the past 17 years and was a member of Eden Church of the Brethren. She retired from Key Bank in 1990 after 18 years of service and was formerly employed as a school teacher with the Tusky Valley School System. Janis was very active as a Pen Pal sending correspondence to many countries. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. She is survived by her husband, Edward C. Slutz to whom she was married 50 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Martin and Kimberley Slutz of Zoar, Aaron and Sandra Slutz of Massillon; five grandchildren, Kraig and his wife, Christina Slutz of Bolivar, Kyle Slutz of Zoar, Jason, Emily and Joshua Slutz of Massillon; one brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Margie Dean of Mineral City; one sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Ted Lindsey of Thonotosassa, FL. Funeral services will be Thursday (today) at 11:00am in the Eden Church of the Brethren with Pastor David Bell officiating. Interment in Eden Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services at the church (10-11am). Memorial donations may be made to Eden Church of Brethren at 4437 Richville Dr SW, Canton, OH 44706.
