Janet M. Shafer
Janet M. Shafer, age 80, of Canton, passed away Saturday July 5, 2008 in Altercare of Navarre following an extended illness. She was born April 6, 1928 in Howenstine, OH, to the late William and Leah (Yarger) Dayton. Janet was a life resident of the Canton area and a 1946 graduate of Canton South High School. She was an in home salesperson for Artex Liquid Embroidery for 25 years. She was a member of the Howenstine Christian Church, Richville Women's Club and American Legion Post #440 Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Shafer in 1996. She is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Roy Shafer, Bob and April Shafer, Tim Shafer all of Canton; four grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday July 8, 2008 at 1:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Chris Davis officiating. Interment in Melscheimer Cemetery.
