Janet Fitzgibbon

Janet Fitzgibbon, age 82, of Canton Township passed away peacefully on Monday, August 26, 2024, in her home. She was born in Canton, OH on August 18, 1942, to the late James and Elinor (Swickard) Tripp. 

Janet graduated from Timken High School in 1960 and retired from MRDD with over 20 years of service. She was a member of the North Industry Christian Church. She enjoyed attending Friday morning breakfasts with retired coworkers, and line dancing at Perry Eagles.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Paul Fitzgibbon in 2013; sister, Betty Royer.

Those left to cherish Janet’s memories are her two sons, Troy (Barb) Fitzgibbon of Magnolia, Todd Fitzgibbon of Canton; brothers, Ralph (Kathy) Tripp, Thomas (Pam) Tripp; three grandchildren, Emilee (Andrew) Humphrey, Jordan and Joshua Fitzgibbon; two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Haylee Humphrey.

In honoring Janet’s wishes there will be no public visitation, and a private family graveside service will be held at Sunset Hills Burial Park. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Janet’s name to the charity of your choice.

Arrangements are entrusted to Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home, 4041 Cleveland Ave S. Canton, Ohio 44707. Friends and family may share condolences and memories.
