Jan C. "Gig" Cush
Jan C. "Gig" Cush, age 70, loving and devoted husband, father, grand-poppy and brother passed away in Aultman Hospital on Saturday, September 2, 2006. He was born in Barnhill, OH, April 29, 1936 to the late Charles A. and Catherine G. Cush. He graduated from Canton South High School in 1954 and served our country as a Radioman in the United States Navy from 1954-1958. Jan worked 21 years for LTV Steel and retired from Coldwell Banker-T.K. Harris Realty in 1999. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. For many years Gig was an avid bowler carrying a 200 average. After his retirement, his vocation became scheduling and organizing his Monday-Wednesday golf league which he truly enjoyed. He had the thrill of a hole-in-one at Edgewater Golf Course in 2004. In addition to his parents, Gig is preceded in death by his brother, Michael F. Cush and a sister-in-law, Jeanne Cush. He leaves many, many happy memories to be cherished by his wife of 46 years, Mary Lou (Ehret) Cush; daughters, Kimberly (Kevin) Boyd, Kerry (Mike) Neff; son, Dr. Gregory (Holly) Cush; grandchildren, Madison, Meredith, Briggs and Malle Boyd, Charles, Grace, Lucy and Oliver Cush, Samuel and Annie Neff. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, J. Fred (Barb) Cush, Gene Cush, Christine (Larry) Yeary, Stephen (Sandy) Cush, Sue (Mike) McGrew, Cathi (Ken) Oyer, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday September 6, 2006 at 10:00am in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Gerald Sommer, MSC as celebrant. Friends may call Tuesday 5-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1602 Market Ave. S., Canton, OH 44707. The family would like to thank Dr. Roberto Novoa and the nurses in the Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit for their compassionate care and concern.
