James “Clyde” Simons, age 82, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023, peacefully in his sleep. He was born on June 18, 1940, in Newton, WV., to the late James W. and Velma (Moss) Simons. Clyde worked for Timken for many years as a finisher. He was a proud member of the Canton Township Volunteer Fire Dept. Station #2 (Waco). Clyde was also a member of the Waco Epworth United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Velma Simons; his first wife, Eldonna Simons; and his second wife, Lynne Simons. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters Pamela (Scott) Phillips, Barbara Simons, and Pauline (Rick) Crawley, Son David Simons; grandchildren, James, Christina, David, Nicole, Barbarella, Anthony, Josh, Ricky, Travis, Johnathan, Abigail, Daniel and 32 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 2nd, from 5-7 pm at Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with a Firefighters Last Alarm Service at 7 pm. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 3rd, at 11 am at the funeral home, with Pastor Dan Edwards officiating. Visitation will also be held on Friday, one hour before the service. Clyde will be laid to rest at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
His daughter Pamela would like to thank Dr. Qureshi, Dr. Cooper, and Aultman Palliative Care for all their help caring for her father.
