James "Tom" McFarlane, age 69, passed away suddenly in his home on July 18, 2024. He was born in Canton, Ohio, on June 2, 1955, to the late James and Lois E. McFarlane. He was a 1973 graduate of Lincoln High School and remained a lifelong resident of the Canton community.
Tom was currently employed with SARTA as a bus driver for the past ten years. He was an active and long term member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and often drove the church bus to events.
Tom was an avid NASCAR fan and was passionate about boating and his own boat. He took pride in tending to his home, especially his lawn. He loved watching a variety of sports, especially his Cleveland teams. Above all else Tom lived for taking care of his family, providing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Tom adored his wife and she was his world. He also loved attending church and visiting with his church family.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Richard T. McFarlane; brother-in laws Michael Khourey and William Scheetz; his beloved family dog Toby Lee who was with him for 14 years.
Those left to cherish Tom’s memory are his wife Becky (Khourey) McFarlane; Daughters Stefanie Khourey and Brittanie (Joseph) Moore; son Michael McFarlane; grandchildren Niko, Dani, Jaxon, Henry and Harper; sisters Teresa Scheetz and Tina Moor; brother Tim McFarlane and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. His funeral will follow at 6:00pm. with Pastor Tim Brown officiating. All services will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church located at 3741 Fohl St SW, Canton, OH 44706.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Tom’s memory to St. Jude’s Research Hospital at ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Arrangements are entrusted to Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home, 4041 Cleveland Ave S. Canton, Ohio 44707. Friends and family may share condolences and memories.
