James F. King
Age 82, of Canton, passed away Sunday October 14, 2018 in Mercy Medical Center. He was born April 8, 1936 in Canton Township to the late Ferdinand R. and Dorothy J. (Kintigh) King. Jim was a 1954 graduate of Canton South High School. He retired from AmeriGas in 1998 and was also employed by Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Homes. Jim was a member of North Industry Christian Church where he had served as an Elder for 32 years. He was the past president of the Canton Local School Board, Ohio LP Gas Association, Waco and Walker PTO, Canton South Band Boosters and was a past member of the Canton South Rotary Club. Jim served as a volunteer fireman with Canton Township Fire Department Station #2 for many years. He volunteered for Mercy Medical Center for 16 years, the Pro Football Hall of Fame Balloon Classic committee and the transportation committees. Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy J. (Mayer) to whom he was married 60 years; four children and their spouses, Michael and Kate King, Janet and David Boiarski, Christine and Steve Farkas, Diana and Scott Lang; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Shelva (Dale) Kuhl, Nancy King and Bonnie (Jonathan) Peterson. Funeral services will be Thursday October 18, 2018 at 11:00am in the North Industry Christian Church with Steve Kimbrel officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends and family will be received Wednesday 5-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home and one hour before services on Thursday (10-11am) at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to North Industry Christian Church Memorial Fund at 425 – 45th St SW., Canton, OH 44706.
