James D. "Jim" Cody, age 75, of Canton, died Tuesday evening, November 7, 2006 in his home following an extended illness. He was born March 4, 1931 in Stockport, OH, to the late Perl and Louise (Grubb) Cody. He was a 1949 graduate of Lincoln High School. Jim served four years with the U.S. Air Force and retired from Timken Research in 1980 after 30 years of service. He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Woodsmen Society. Jim enjoyed camping and traveling across the country. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant sister and a brother-in-law, Herman Fisher. He will be missed by his wife of 50 years, Mary Lou (Cochran) Cody; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Jane and Robert Browning, Theresa and Jeff Schumacher; three grandchildren, James, Sarah and Rob Browning; one sister, Ellalee Fisher; one brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Doris Cody; and many extended family members. Funeral services will be Friday November 10, 2006 at 11:00am in Otterbein United Methodist Church with Pastor Phil Raynes and Rev. Paul Gerycz officiating. Interment in East Union Lawn Cemetery, Navarre. Friends may call Thursday (tonight) 5-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. and one hour before services, Friday at the church (10-11am). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church Memorial Fund at 6025 Shepler Church Rd SW, Navarre, OH 44662.
