James E. Bird Sr.
Age 82 of Canton, went to be with the Lord January 1, 2015. He was born September 27, 1932 in Fall River, MA to the late John W. and Bertha (O'Brien) Bird. Jim was a Canton resident most of his life and retired from Dyneer Manufacturing Company in 1981 after 20 years of service. Jim was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, where he played golf with the "Skin Heads." He was a member of the American Legion and was an avid bowler. Jim was a Korean War Army veteran. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Antoinette "Toni" Bird to whom he was married 60 years; one grandson, John W. Bird Jr. He is survived by his children, Teri, John (Brenda), Vickie (Haze), Jim (Bobbi), Jeff (Billie) and Sheryl; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Norman (Joyce) Joseph (Bird). Funeral services will be Monday January 5, 2015 at 11:00am in the Sanders Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call one hour before services on Monday (10-11am).
