James R. Bennett
Age 83, of Canal Fulton died Thursday, April 2, 2015 in his home following an extended illness. Born September 17, 1931 in Canton, Ohio to the late Joseph and Mary (Habrun) Bennett. He was a Canal Fulton resident since 1966 and was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. James retired from JC Penney in 1996 after 16 years of service. He was formerly employed as a chemist with the Hoover Company and PPG and was the former owner of the Tractor Place in Bolivar. James was a partner of Rivertree Christian Church. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie E. (Hager) Bennett; two daughters and son-in-law, Connie and Robert Sherrod of Jackson Twp, Susan Petit of Jackson Twp; one son and daughter-in-law, James J. and Darlene Bennet of Canton; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Scott, Christy, Ethan, Sarah, Samantha and AJ; five great grandchildren, Miranda, Dylan, Kayla, Elora and Kennedy; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jo and Bill Kintz of North Canton; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, April 6, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. with Rev. Dennis Woodruff officiating. Interment in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Monday one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 am. Memorial donations may be made to the Aultman Hospice Program.
