Jack V. Nichols
Age 76, of Canton died Thursday, January 12, 2012 in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. Born March 26, 1935 in Canton to the late Wayne M. and Esther M. (Reiter) Nichols. He was a life resident of Canton and a 1954 graduate of Canton Lehman High School. He was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran. Jack was employed over 40 years in the overhead door business with Overhead Door Company of Canton and Wayne Dalton. Following retirement he worked part time with Fisher Foods. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Canton Lehman Alumni Association, former member and past president of the Canton South Kiwanis Club, a former coach for Hot Stove Baseball and was an avid golfer. Preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Albert and Vaughn "Abe" Nichols. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Carole B. (Berger) Nichols; two sons, Keith Nichols of Wadsworth, Christopher Nichols of Canton; one daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Doug Nohl of Athens, OH; six grandchildren and spouses, Melissa and Scott Howell, Jason and Megan Nichols, Jordan Fiddler, Samantha, Abigail and Grace Nichols; five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 at 11:00 am in First Lutheran Church, 909 East Tuscarawas St., Canton, OH. 44707, with Pastor Darla Ann Kratzer officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday from 10-11am.
