Iva June Anthony

Iva J. Anthony, age 94, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024. She was born on December 8, 1929 in Waynesburg, OH to John and Elsie (Schiltz) Wendell.

Iva was a 1947 graduate of Canton Twp. High School. She went on to work for Frito-Lay where she retired in 1988. Iva was an active member of Centenary United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for 40 years and was a nursery attendant for 25 years. Iva was also a member of AARP, TOPS and the senior social group.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Gene Anthony whom she was married to for 67 years; sisters Erscle Almasy, Myrtle Griffing, Gladys Young and Donna Lorusso; brothers, Clifford, Kenneth and Jack Wendell. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Vickie, Mark and Karen Anthony; grandchildren, Andrew (Emily), Zac (Elizabeth) and Samantha (Justin) Hufstetler; great grandchildren, Hudson and Emma Anthony. 

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, from 10-11am at Centenary United Methodist Church. A funeral service will follow at 11am at the church. Iva will be laid to rest at Mapleton Cemetery.
