Irene (Nay) Kuhn
Age 88, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on January 1, 2010. Irene, fondly known as 'Tead' to her family, was born December 26, 1921 on the Nay family farm, Sommersville's Fork, Palestine, WV. She was born the second of twelve children to the late Grover F. and Bernice (Warren) Nay. She graduated as class valedictorian in 1939 from Wirt County High School and received her Bachelor's Degree in Divinity from the Baptist Bible Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. Irene was a homemaker who thoroughly enjoyed quilting, gardening, baking and canning; however, her lifes focus was serving the Lord by working for more than 50 years with the Children's Ministry of the Canton Baptist Temple. On June 27, 1959 she married Ronald Kuhn, who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen and Ken Klick of Navarre; one grandson, Logan Klick of Navarre who was her pride and joy; two brothers, Jack (Shirley) Nay of Davisville, WV, Jarrett (Beth) Nay of Washington, WV; three sisters, Paula (Max) Walters of Cuyahoga Falls, Clara (John) Miday of Waynesburg and Kate Beck of East Canton; one sister-in-law, Lois Nay of Mishawaka, IN; two brothers-in-law, Jack Mazlo of South Bend, IN. and Chet Cripe of Niles, MI; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Rex Nay (2001) and Gerald Nay (2007); four sisters, Bernice Weir (2005), Doris Mazlo (1975), Ann Nay (1984) and Margaret Cripe (2007). Funeral services will be Tuesday January 5, 2010 at 11:00am in the Canton Baptist Temple, 515 Whipple Ave NW, Canton, with Pastor Mike Frazier officiating. Internment in West Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Monday 5-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. and one hour before services at the church on Tuesday (10-11am). Donations in Irene's memory may be made to the Children's Ministry of the Canton Baptist Temple or to Aultman Hospice.
