Hugh B. Humphrey
Age 89, of Louisville, passed away Monday October 25, 2010 in Canterbury Villa, Alliance. He was born March 28, 1921 in Belmont County to the late Dillon and Lucille (Barber) Humphrey. Hugh was a Louisville resident since 1946 and a WWII Army veteran having served with the Railroad Battalion. He retired from United Foundry in 1983 after 23 years of service. He was member of Center Church of the Brethren, VFW Post #3747 and the American Legion Post #548, Louisville. Hugh was an avid gardener and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (Henzel) Humphrey in 1999; one son, Kenneth Humphrey; two brothers, Dillon and Robert Humphrey; one sister, Mary Hudy. He is survived by three sons, James Humphrey of Louisville, Ron Humphrey of Snohomish, WA and his partner, Linda Shilling, Charles Humphrey of Louisville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and James Latza of Lakewood, OH, Sandy Humphrey of Louisville and her partner, Tim Uncapher of N. Benton, Darlene and Craig Laubender of Tiffin, OH; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren who were his true joy and gave him great pride; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Eleanor Dymadoski, Janice and Bob Leighly. Funeral services will be Saturday October 30, 2010 at 11:00am in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Pastor Jim Lee officiating. Friends may call Friday 6-8pm.
