Hubert E. Highman
Age 80, of Canton, passed away Wednesday March 3, 2011 in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. He was born one of eight children on August 28, 1930 in Woodsfield, OH to the late David and Gladys (Bates) Highman. He retired as a millwright from the Ford Motor Company, former owner/operator of Waco American Gas Station and had also worked as an ironworker. During his lifetime he enjoyed antique Tractor pulls, working on automobiles, watching Indians baseball and square dancing. He loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Jean (Dillon) to whom he was married 63 years; two daughters, Judy (Dan) Lake, Jill (Keith) Nichols all of Canton; one son, Jeff (Bonny) Highman of Georgia; daughter-in-law, Sandy Highman of Canton; four grandchildren, Jason (Megan) Nichols, Melissa (Scott) Howell, John (Sarah) Highman and Sarah L. Highman all of Canton; five great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Logan Howell, Joshua, Andrew and Dana Nichols all of Canton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, John Highman; one granddaughter, Stephanie Lake. A private family graveside service will be conducted in Sunset Hills Burial Park with Rev. Carolyn Nichols officiating. There will be no public services. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. The family requests memorial donations are made to the American Diabetes Association at P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
