Homer Lively
Age 87, of Canton, passed away Monday June 6, 2011 in Hennis Care Centre, Bolivar. He was born August 3, 1923 in Duffy, OH to the late Homer Crawford and Vilinda (Cain). Homer was a WWII Navy veteran where he had served aboard the YMS398. He was a Canton area resident since 1949 and retired from The Timken Company in 1991 after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Northwest Church of Christ, the Naval Mine Warfare Association and a former member of Boy Scouts of America. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father, David Lively; one brother, Joe Lively. He is survived by his wife, Mary A. (Stoneking) to whom he was married 60 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Brian Heid of Canton; one son, Terry Lively of Marion, OH; five grandchildren, Josh, Jason and Jon Heid, Amelia and Lauren Lively. Funeral services will be Thursday June 9, 2011 at 1:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Lance Lindenberger and Bill Craddock officiating. Interment with military honors in Melscheimer Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8pm and one hour before services on Thursday (12-1pm).
