Herbert Hamilton Jr.

Herbert Hamilton Jr., age 87 of Canton South, went home to be with the Lord and reunited with his beautiful wife, Jean, of 61 years on Saturday, December 16th, 2023. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.

Herb was a proud veteran of the US Army where he served two years in Korea. He was a graduate of Canton Lincoln High School. He retired from the Timken Steel Mill after 30 years of service. He was a lifelong member of the Police Boys Club/J Babe Stearn Community Center and was inducted into the Babe Stearn Center Hall of Fame in August of 2023. Herb also enjoyed coaching his son and grandsons for many years in the Canton South Youth Baseball League. Herb & Jean were members of Westbrook Park United Methodist Church. 

Herb was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert O. & Lola M. Hamilton; his stepbrother, Harry (Buzz) Crawford; and his grandson, Chase Dine.

He is survived by his three children Scott (Edie) Hamilton, Sandy (Steven) Miller, and Chris (Rob) Dine. He also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren: Nick (Diana) Hamilton, Matthew (Reiny) Hamilton, Rebecca Hamilton, Brooke (Ethan) Hodge, & Danielle Dine, along with four great-grandchildren: Garrett, Eli, Chloe, & Kolton, and expecting a fifth.

A private Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
