Syler, Helen F.
age 95, of Canton, passed away Tuesday June 9, 2009 in Altercare of Nobles Pond following a brief illness. She was born April 6, 1914 in East Vandergrift, PA, to the late Antonie and Stafanya (Stanczak) Golembeski. Helen was a Canton area resident most of her life and a 1932 graduate of McKinley High School. She retired from Canton Local Schools as Cafeteria Manager at Prairie College Elementary School. Helen was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Canton and the Canton South AARP. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bud Syler in 2003; one brother, Art Golembeski; two sisters, Nellie Bast and Bernice Golembeski. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and William Bayda of Canton, Jill and Tim Miller of Canton, Christine Syler of Michigan; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gay Harmon of N. Canton, Mary Kuhns of Canton, Barbara Holliday of N. Canton; numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday June 12, 2009 at 10:00am in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Benson Okpara as celebrant. The procession will form at the church. Friends may call Thursday 5-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home.
