Helen Louise Hayhurst
Age 99, passed away Friday January 2, 2015 in Manor Care of Belden Village. She was born June 5, 1915 in Bingammon, WV to the late Robert and Lillie (Earnest) Higgins. Helen was a Canton resident since 1941 and retired from Aultman Hospital. Helen had attended the Canton Baptist Temple for many years and the family would like to extend a special thank you to Brenda Sweitzer for the many cards and good wishes sent over the years. She is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Helen Hayhurst; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Isabelle) Higgins and Burtis (Eloise) Higgins; four sisters, Betty Higgins, Mildred Edgel, Eleanor Riggs and Freda Mansfield; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Hayhurst; son-in-law, Ronald Hoffman. She is survived by one son, Robert Hayhurst; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Herb Harsh; two grandsons, Brian (Lisa) Downard and Mahlon (Kelly) Downard; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harold (Alberta) Higgins, Donald (June) Higgins and Frank Higgins. The family wishes to thank the staff of Manor Care and Crossroads Hospice for their kindness and excellent care. A memorial service will be Monday January 5, 2015 at 6:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Stephen Kimbrel officiating. Friends will be received one hour before services on Monday (5-6pm). In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Stark County Humane Society or the Alzheimer Association.
