Helen Mae Erbland
Helen Mae Erbland, age 74, of Canton, died Monday, May 16, 2005, in Meadow Wind Health Care Center following an extended illness. Daughter of the late Herbert and Mabel (Stoehr) Stidd. She was a Canton area resident most of her life and had resided in N. Myrtle Beach, SC for 23 years. She was a 1949 graduate of Timken High School and a member of the Lady Elks Lodge # 441, Massillon and the Foresters. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Burwell and Lois Arsuffi. She is survived by her husband, John A. Erbland to whom she was married 47 years; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terri and John Thurmond of Atlanta, GA, Nancy and Alan Butts of East Sparta; one son and daughter-in-law, John W. "Duke" and Pam Erbland of Myrtle Beach, SC; one step-daughter and her spouse, Wendy and Russell Jones of Kershaw, SC; one step-son, Henry Cook of Victorville, CA; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Genevieve and Earl Storer of Canton, Ruth Moyer of Dunedin, FL. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave., with Pastor John Stallings officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services on Wednesday, 10-11:00am in the funeral home.
