Helen R. Davis
Age 96, formerly of East Canton, passed away Tuesday October 7, 2014 in St. Luke Lutheran Home. She was born February 10, 1918 in East Canton to the late Charles and Ruth (Marks) Snyder. Helen was a 1936 graduate of East Canton High School and attended Canton Actual Business School. She was formerly employed by NATCO and Canton Terrazzo Floors. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ for 88 years. She served on the Stark County Election Board for 53 years; was a former member of Stark County Cabin Cruisers Club for 27 years, Avion Club for 24 years and AARP. She is preceded in death by her husband, Delmer A. "Doc" Davis in 1997; two brothers and a sister- in-law, Lester C. and Jean Snyder, Marion C. Snyder. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn and Sam Berry of The Villages, FL, Mary Rose Davis of North Canton; four grandchildren, Kevin Berry (Nancy Green), Marianne (Vern) Williams, Keith (Lisa) Berry and Marcy (Doug) Ritzert; five great-grandchildren, Daniel, Lora (Derek), Ben, Jon and Anna; sister-in-law, June Snyder; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday October 14, 2014 at 11:00am in St. Paul's United Church of Christ with Rev. Clark Kandel Jr. officiating. Calling hours will be one hour before services on Tuesday at the church (10-11am). Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery on Tuesday at 2:00pm.
