Helen Bowers
Helen Bowers, age 83, of Canton, died Sunday, March 5, 2006 in Altercare of Navarre following a brief illness. Born June 25, 1922 in East Sparta, OH. to the late Emmett G. and Rosa (Mauter) Steinmetz and had been life resident of the North Industry area. Helen was the last of the original founding members of North Industry United Methodist Church and member of the Golden Links Quilting Group. Preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Bowers in 1988; two brothers, Osborne and Carl Steinmetz; two sisters, Blanche Klotz and Belva Hart. Survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Bonnie and Dan Brooks of Canton, Elaine Pepper of Canton; one son, Terry Bowers of Oberlin, OH; foster daughter and spouse, Kathryn and Dr. Stephen Lee of Tulsa, OK; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Esta Mears of Missouri. Memorial services will be Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 5:00 pm in North Industry United Methodist Church with Rev. David Ross officiating. Inurnment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to North Industry U.M.C.@ P.O. Box 40, Canton, OH. 44707. Kreighbaum- Sanders Funeral Home on South Cleveland Ave. in care of arrangements.
