Hazel V. Mathews
Age 83, of Canton, passed away Sunday August 18, 2013 in Manor Care. She was born April 25, 1930 in Woodsfield, OH to the late Albert and Myrtle (Cline) Bonam. Hazel was a Canton area resident for 62 years and was formerly employed at the Canton South McDonald's for 13 years. She was a member of the former Market Ave. Church of Christ and the Northwest Church of Christ. She was faithful in her daily Bible reading and truly enjoyed quilting and card games. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Mathews in 1991; one daughter, Betty Mathews; one grandson, William Mathews; one sister, Alberta Saunier; four brothers, Ralph, Lawrence, Warren and Lloyd Bonam. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley Snyder of Canton, Connie and Robert Ertel of Massillon, Deborah and Leo Edwards of Canton; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Stephanie Mathews of Canton; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday August 22, 2013 at 11:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Bill Craddock officiating. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
