Harvey R. Hookway
Harvey R. Hookway, age 80, of Canal Fulton and formerly of East Canton died Tuesday August 26, 2008 in Meadow Wind Health Care Center following a brief illness. Born June 4, 1928 in Canton to the late Samuel L. and Ethyl E. (Ronk) Hookway. He was a Canal Fulton resident for the past five years prior to which he was an East Canton resident most of his life. Harvey retired from the Ford Motor Company after 39 years of service. He was a former member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by his wife, Donna M. Hookway in 2007; a son, Brian Hookway in 1983; one sister, Dorotha Bowman. Survived by five children and spouses, Larry and Amy Hookway of Willard, OH, Jane and Mark Bobulski of Grove City, OH, Linda Hookway of Canal Fulton, Bob and Louise Hookway of Akron, Beth and David Gromofsky of Clinton, OH; 12 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; three brothers, James, Norman and Carl Hookway; three sisters, Esther Cooley, Sarah Pinkley and Phyllis Clouse; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday Sept. 2, 2008 at 10:00 am in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with Rev. Richard K. Thewlis officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Monday from 6 – 8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, 108 E. Walnut, East Canton, OH. 44730.
