Harvey E. First
Age 89, of Canton, passed away Saturday September 6, 2014 in the Laurels of Canton following a brief illness. He was born January 28, 1925 in Canton to the late Carl and Anna (Gill) First. Harvey was a life resident of the Minerva and Canton area and was a WWII Navy Veteran. He retired from Jackson-Bailey after 30 years of service. Harvey was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing and hunting. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Richard First; one daughter, Shelley First; two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Joyce I. (Swier) to whom he was married 60 years; one daughter, Cindy Viola of N. Canton; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Kelly First of Massillon; three grandchildren, Michelle, Tina and Joe; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosemary Blythe of Charleston, SC. Memorial services will be Wednesday September 10, 2014 at 7:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Steve Kimbrel officiating.
