Harry A. Shearer
Age 89, of East Sparta died Sunday, January 15, 2012 in his home following an extended battle with cancer. Born December 31, 1922 in Verona, PA. to the late Harry K. and Margaret (Sarver) Shearer. He was an East Sparta resident most of his life and a U.S. Army WWII veteran. Harry had been in the trucking industry for over 50 years and retired from Deioma Trucking. He was a member of the Foresters, American Legion Canton Post #44 and Teamsters Local #92. Preceded in death by a son, Thomas A. Shearer, one sister, Harriet Chadwick; one brother, William Shearer. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Billie P. (Wilkinson) Shearer; four children, James H. Shearer, Richard L. Shearer, Harriet M. Shearer Thomas, Cindy Shearer Shipley; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Merle Shearer and Ervin Wilson; one sister, Norma Schlimm. A gathering to celebrate Harry's life will be Wednesday, Jan 18, 2012 from 6-8 pm at the Geisen House, 6955 Promway Ave. North Canton, OH. 44720. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad St., Canfield, OH. 44406.
