Harry R. "Bob" Powell, age 79 of Louisville, died Wednesday Sept. 14, 2005 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Akron, OH. on Dec. 5, 1925 to the late Claude T. and Ava (Maurer) Powell. He was a Louisville area resident for the past 38 years. Army veteran of WWII and retired from the Ohio National Guard where he attained the rank of Major. Retired teacher from Sandy Valley Local Schools. Member and Sunday School teacher of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and served as a Lay Minister for the United Churches of Christ. Also member of Julliard Lodge #460 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, Lowell D. Oberly American Legion Post#667, Stark CountyRetired Teachers Assoc. Preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Madden Bungart; one brother, Claude T. Powell, Jr. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Annetta E. (Clapper) Powell; daughter, Joyce Powell of Louisville; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Charlotte Powell of Massillon; one grand-daughter, Erin Powell of Massillon; many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be Monday Sept. 19, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul's United Church of Christ in East Canton with Rev. Jenna Brown officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Sunday from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. with Masonic services at 1:45 p.m. in the Myers-Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ @ 306 Church St. W., East Canton, OH. 44730.
