Harry J. Peden Jr.
Harry J. Peden Jr., age 81, of Canton, died unexpectedly Sunday, October 31, 2004 in his home. Son of the late Harry J. and Minerva (Morgan) Peden Sr. He was a life resident of the Canton area and a 1941 graduate of Bolivar High School. A WWII army veteran and recipient of the Presidential Unit Citation and Medaille Du Jubile from France, for the Normandy Invasion. He retired from Engine Improvements in 1985 after 15 years of service and was formerly employed by Hercules Engines. Member of North Industry United Methodist Church where he was active in the choir and a member of the board with the Canton South AARP. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn L. Peden in 1999. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Douglas and Linda Peden of East Canton, Gregory and Marti Peden of Green, five grandchildren; Heather Peden-Gonzalez, Randy, Matthew, Molly and Jessica Peden, three great grandchildren; Samantha, Vincent and Rhiannon. Two brothers and sisters-in-law; Eugene and Helen Peden of Little Rock, AR., Paul and Betty Peden of Punta Gorda, FL. and a special friend, Ruth Phillips of North Industry. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Rev. David Ross officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to North Industry United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 40, Canton, OH 44707.
