Harry L. Jones

Harry Lee Jones was taken to heaven in the arms of Jesus surrounded by his loving family, December 17, 2011. His last days were filled with visits by his family, friends and church family.
Harry was born December 24, 1941 in Dover Union Hospital to Francis Lucille (Barkley) Jones and Henry Elias Jones. He married the love of his life, Carol Ann (Cramer) on July 10, 1965. On August 16, 1973, they were blessed with a daughter, Amy Lynn.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, mother, F. Lucille Jones Shoemaker, daughter, Amy (Larry) Slutz, grandchildren, Kayla Nicole and Logan Michael Slutz, brother James (Sandra) Jones o f Gahanna, sister Pamela (James) Milhoan of Carrollton, niece Stephanie (Steven) Rodenbaugh of Hilliard and nephew, Tyler (Anjana) Jones of Waukesha, WI.
Harry was a life resident of Perry Township and was in the first graduating class of Perry High School (1959). Following graduation he served with the United States Army Reserves. He accepted the Lord as his personal savior at the age of ten and was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and a former member of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Canton. He worked at Mercury Clutch (Dyneer) in Canton for many years and retired from Bosch Rexroth in Wooster. Harry was also a member of the International Association of Machinist and the American Auto Workers Union.
Harry deeply loved his grandchildren, the pride and joy of his life, and could be found along the sidelines cheering while they played sports. He also enjoyed keeping up his yard and flowers. Harry was an avid fan of Nascar especially Dale Earnhardt.
God saw he was getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so he put His arms around him and whispered, "Come with me". With tear filled eyes we watched him suffer and fade away. Although we loved him deeply, we could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove, He only takes the best.
Calling hours will be at Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour before the funeral service, which will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21 at Otterbein United Methodist Church. Pastor James Zimmerman will conduct the funeral service. Interment will be at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Harry's family would like to thank Mercy Hospice (especially Edda and Donna) for everything they did. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church in Harry's name.
