Harold J. Weaver
Age 90, of Canton, passed away Saturday November 20, 2010 in the Canton Regency following declining health. He was born January 17, 1920 in Canton to the late Joseph and Cordelia (Koehn) Weaver. Harold was a life resident of the Canton area, a 1938 graduate of McKinley High School and a graduate of Mt. Union University. He proudly served in the Army Air Corps during WWII in the South Pacific Theater. He retired from Republic Steel in 1982 after 35 years of service and was a life member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where he had served as commentator. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Helen C. Weaver in 1997. He is survived by four children, Virginia and David Pool of Massillon, Joseph H. Weaver of Warwick, RI, Gretchen Holland of Canton, John Weaver of Stow; six grandchildren, Christine (Jamie) Pieh, Dan (Kate) Weaver, Carla, Paul, Scott and Adam Weaver. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Canton Regency special care and skilled nursing staff and Harbor Light Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday November 24, 2010 at 10:00am in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Benson Okpara as celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. The family strongly encourages in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church at 1602 Market St. S., Canton, OH 44707.
