Harold W. McAtee
age 86, of Canton, passed away Sunday March 14, 2010 in the Legends Care Center following an extended illness. He was born July 29, 1923 in Parkersburg, WV to the late Silas and Carrie McAtee. Harold was a WWII Navy veteran and a Canton area resident for 62 years. He retired from Jones Motor Freight and was formerly employed by several trucking companies for many years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Steven McAtee; one daughter, Connie McAtee; five brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Madeline (McDonald) to whom he was married 64 years; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David McAtee of Canton, Gregory and Cindy McAtee of North Carolina; five grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday March 17, 2010 at 11:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Pastor Larry Brown officiating. Interment with military honors in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call one hour before services on Wednesday 10-11am.
