Gregory J. Dovidio
Gregory J. Dovidio, age 61, of Naperville, IL, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday September 24, 2008 in his home. He was born September 28, 1946 in Canton, OH, to the late Constantine and Perry (DeStefano) Dovidio. Greg was a resident of Illinois since 1985 prior to which he had resided in Indiana. He was a 1964 graduate of Canton Central Catholic High School and a graduate of Walsh College which he attended on a basketball scholarship and played on the first Walsh Basketball team. He was employed by Sears Holdings for 40 years and a former member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Canton. Greg was an avid golfer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis Merryman; one brother, Gregorio Dovidio. He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Bonnie Dovidio of N. Canton; one sister and brother-in-law, Bonita and Matthew Martin of Orlando, FL; eight nieces and nephews; many close friends and good golfing buddies. Funeral services will be Wednesday October 1, 2008 at 10:00am in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home S. Cleveland Ave. with Fr. Tom Bishop officiating. Interment in North Lawn Cemetery.
