Grace M. (Stoner) Thomas

Grace M. Thomas Age 79, of Canton, passed away Sunday July 15, 2018 in Aultman Compassionate Care Center. Grace was born December 8, 1938 in Canton to the late Elvin and Erna (George) Stoner. She retired from Canton Local Schools after 30 years of service and had served as the union representative for many years. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church where she was the choir director for 50 years. She was a member of Canton South AARP and president for seven years; she served as choral director for the Canton Township Women’s’ Chorus and the Melody Makers. She is preceded in death by one son, Eric Thomas in 2012; one brother and two sisters. Grace is survived by her husband, Clifford “Jim” Thomas to whom she was married 62 years; three daughters, Pamela (Kevin) Palmer, Terri (Brad) Clendenin and Jamie (David) Taylor; two sons, Jim (Janice) Thomas and Ryan (Sarah) Thomas; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be Friday July 20, 2018 at 11:00am in Otterbein United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Hayward officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends and family will be received Thursday 6-8pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home and one hour before services at the church on Friday (10-11am).
