Gloria J. Fernandez

Age 91, of East Canton, passed away Monday March 30, 2020 in the Inn at University Village. She was born November 19, 1928 in Detroit, MI to the late Adolfo and Josefa (Barrera) Delgado. Gloria was a 1946 graduate of Timken Vocational High School and an East Canton resident since 1951. She retired from Black, McCuskey, Souers, Arbaugh Law Firm in 2011 after 65 years of service. Gloria was a member of Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church in Louisville, Lowell D. Oberly American Legion Auxiliary Post #667, Spanish-American Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order of Foresters. Gloria deeply loved her family and was known for her pizzelle and nut rolls. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Fernandez to whom she was married 61 years; one son, Frank “Chico” Fernandez. Gloria is survived by two daughters, Renee (Tim) Morris of East Canton and Adele (Doug) Masalko of Canton; eight grandchildren, Frank (Kerri) Fernandez, Nina (Todd) Black, Tony (Tammy) Morris, Nick (Sarah) Morris, Joey (Amber) Morris, Manuel, Marlene and Monica Masalko; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Aurora Dayton of Canton; one brother, Adolfo Delgado Jr. of Canton. The family would like to thank the Inn at University Village and Crossroads Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion. Private family services will be in the Sanders Funeral Home in East Canton with David Seamen officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church at 903 Nickel Plate S., Louisville, OH 44641.
