Glenn C. Mayes
Glenn C. Mayes, age 85, of Canton, died Monday January 30, 2006 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. He was born March 9, 1920 in Zanesville, OH. Glenn was a Canton area resident since 1948 and a WWII Navy veteran. He retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1980 after 32 years of service. Member of Canton Baptiat Temple where he was employed as a printer for 15 years, served as a Sunday School Teacher, Trustee, Choir member, Mission Board member and active with the Ambassador Class. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Susan Leach and Margie Haney; two brothers, Harold and Clyde. He is survived by his wife, Betty J. (Cole) Mayes; four daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Larry Price, Sharon and Danny Mullane all of Canton South, Karen and Jeffrey Shuster, Jane and Steve Anderson all of North Canton; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Bea and Bill Cole of Navarre, Alice Landers of Columbus, Dorothy and Jim Ashworth of Charleston, WV; one brother, George of Toledo. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:00pm in Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Pastor Mike Frazier officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Missions Fund at the Canton Baptist Temple, 515 Whipple Ave NW, Canton, OH 44708.
