Glendon L. Griffith
Glendon L. Griffith, age 76, of Dover, OH, passed away Monday May 19, 2008 in Aultman Hospital following an extended illness. He was born June 13, 1931 in Canton, to the late Webster and Willa (Warner) Griffith. He was a 1951 graduate of Canton South High School and a Dover area resident for the past 36 years. Glendon was co-owner/operator of the former W.C. Griffith and Sons, retiring in 2001 after 52 years of service. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Dover. Glendon greatly enjoyed and valued his family, gardening and a good round of golf. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jaime Griffith; one brother, Larry Griffith. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (McCreary) to whom he was married 51 years; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Greg and Kandy Griffith of Margate, FL, Mark Griffith of Canton; five grandchildren, Kasey, Hayley, Taylor, Jordan and Katrina; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Ruth Ann Griffith of Ashland, OH, Jim and Lucille Griffith of Dalton, Ron and Barb Griffith of Michigan, Cliff and Nancy Griffith of Waynesburg; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday May 23, 2008 at 1:00pm in the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave. with Chris Mulpas and Ken Parrott officiating. Interment in West Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before services on Friday (12-1pm). In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Glendon's memory to the charity of your choice.
