Gladys R. Parks, age 76, of Canton, died Tuesday March 21, 2006 in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. She was born May 15, 1929 in New Bern, VA, to the late Charles and Martha (Shockley) Rorrer. Gladys was a Canton resident since 1954 and the retired owner/operator of Parks Beauty Shop in East Canton, member of AARP. She is also preceded in death by one sister, Julia Cardoza; two brothers, Thomas and Charles Rorrer; half sister, Annie Mae Trent; half brother, Ray Rorrer. She is survived by her husband, Edwin C. Parks to whom she was married 60 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Sam Jury of San Antonio, TX; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Vaughn of Pulaski, VA, and Edith Starner of Canton; two brothers, James Rorrer of Pulaski, VA and Bobbie Rorrer of Canton. Graveside services will be Thursday at 1:30pm in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Ron Howard officiating. Arrangements are with the Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home on S. Cleveland Ave.
